The AIV is an air pump which adds extra air upstream of the cats and burns off the extra fuel that was added at idle to smooth out the idle. In '93, Nissan removed the system because they felt they'd obtained a decent idle quality *without* the extra fuel.
You come out and tell me what I said is "not the point" of the AIV system and it is clear you did not read my entire post.
You have this tendency to contradict everyone even if what they say is correct. Someone will come along and say 1 + 3 == 4 and you come right back at them and say "No, 3 + 1 == 4".
